What the assessment is based on

The tool checks four EU instruments. All four require a due diligence process, but in different forms and on different timelines.

Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)

After the Omnibus amendment (Directive (EU) 2026/470, OJ 26 February 2026) the directive applies to EU companies with more than 5,000 employees and over EUR 1.5 billion in worldwide turnover, and to non-EU companies with over EUR 1.5 billion generated in the EU. Transposition by 26 July 2028, application from 26 July 2029. For most companies the requirements arrive as customer contract terms rather than directly from the law.

Forced Labour Regulation

Regulation (EU) 2024/3015 prohibits products made with forced labour on the EU market from 14 December 2027. There is no size threshold: it applies to anyone with products on the EU market. The Commission published its implementation guidelines in June 2026. Read more on the Forced Labour Regulation.

Batteries Regulation

The due diligence obligations under Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 apply from 18 August 2027, postponed by Regulation (EU) 2025/1561. They bind operators with turnover above EUR 40 million and cover cobalt, lithium, nickel and natural graphite. The policy is verified by a notified body.

Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)

Following the amending Regulation (EU) 2025/2650, application begins on 30 December 2026 for medium and large operators and on 30 June 2027 for micro and small operators. Primary operators carry the full due diligence obligation including geolocation data; downstream operators need only collect supplier information and due diligence statement reference numbers.
